This is a beautiful place to rent what I would call a small cottage with an amazing view of the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean. The sunset was breathtaking and you can hear the waves crashing on shore all night. Management was helpful and friendly and made the check in easy. They had a coffee machine and snacks available with a free carafe of water. The deck outside our back door was overlooking the river and I swear you could see steelhead surfacing. The price wasn't bad and I would definitely come stay here again.

Treated ourselves to an after-Christmas staycation at the Madeira House in Jenner, staying in the Osprey Room, and it was absolutely wonderful. The Osprey Room itself is best described by one perfect word: cozy. The space is comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The bed was firm yet luxurious, and there was a lovely selection of amenities, including chocolates, chips, and nuts. The gas fireplace kept us warm all evening, and the heated bathroom floors were such a delightful surprise—pure comfort. The windows are incredibly soundproof, making the room feel like a peaceful cocoon. We kept the shades up to enjoy the stars and the moon as it set, and the deck view over the Russian River was stunning, especially at sunset. The weather was clear and calm, and it was fascinating to experience how much warmer it felt at sea level than inland. Dinner at nearby River’s End was easy and convenient, and we also loved being able towalk to Café Aquatica. Know before you go: There’s only a small market at the gas station nearby. Next time, I’ll be sure to bring a charcuterie board, wine, and spirits to make drinks, as there’s no bar within walking distance. Overall, this was a perfect Sonoma County staycation—peaceful, comfortable, and thoughtfully curated. We left feeling relaxed and already looking forward to returning.

Beautiful all the way around. Our room was furnished with a super comfortable king size bed, the bathroom has a tub as well as a generous shower. Most of all, the view of the Russian River meeting the Pacific made the Madeira House experience totally magical.

We had a magical overnight at Madeira House. When we arrived, we asked if we could switch rooms to one with a water view and not only was our request accommodated, the amazing staff person helped us with our bags, set us up with a dog bed and bowls for our dog and made us feel so welcome — all while it was pouring rain outside! The bed was comfy. The bathroom was well appointed. And I cannot say enough for the views. Being right on the water felt so special. We could’ve stayed for much longer. Thank you Madeira House team for helping us to celebrate our baby on the way! Truly unforgettable experience.

This was our first stay under the new Madeira House management. We have stayed at the Jenner Inn/Madeira House properties for over 25 years, and it continues to be one of our favorite get-aways. We stayed in the "Sunset Room" for one night. It was nicely upgraded, very comfortable with a king bed, and well appointed. The only thing we would add is a small table for coffee/beverages inside. It could even be a folding table and stored in the alcove in the bathroom. Just a suggestion. Our only lament are the price hikes. Our favorite room, which is now the "Maderia Suite" is now out of our price range, so for our preferred 3+ night stays, we may need to look elsewhere. But! If flying solo, I personally could make this work. I always need a room with a deck overlooking the Russian River, and the view from this deck is wonderful, and yes, we enjoyed a stellar sunset the night we stayed. We were lulled to sleep by a sweet chorus of frogs. Of course we will return. We always do.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful, a mix of old and new with updated appliances and windows but also an old school looking furnace (electric) The shower was pretty big and the room itself too for two people. The room comes equipped with a kettle for hot water, nespresso, mini fridge, and microwave. Water is provided and available in their little lobby or left outside if the lobby is closed I believe Right on the highway and you can hear the car noises but it’s nothing too crazy since the road is not too busy Everything was stunning and so peaceful!

My husband and I spent one night in Oct 2025 and our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer. The room was very clean, cozy and soothingly decorated with high end linens and everything needed for a comfortable stay. The service was great! The staff we met was accommodating and friendly. The location can't be beat, we were right on the water and the views were spectacular. While you are walking distance to a great coffee, restaurants and wine bar, you feel like you are miles away; it's so peaceful and private. We highly recommend the Madeira House for a relaxing, peaceful, private stay in a most beautiful location.

Gorgeous place just wonderful for rest and relaxation! We loved the view and the staff were incredibly kind, especially Tom. We stayed in the Sage room and just loved the balcony and everything. Sage is two flights down from parking on wooden steps which is slightly difficult in the dark but there are lights every other step and a good hand rail.
